Through the Harvesting Hope Caravan, PFSCU is strengthening trust and alignment across Nigeria’s food systems, engaging 5 states, 2000 farmer groups, and 13 community leaders around a shared vision for agricultural transformation.
PFSCU is strengthening seasonal agricultural planning by capturing farmers’ production intentions through state extension systems. To date, 13 states and over 120,000 farmers have contributed data, strengthening coordinated national and state decision-making.
PFSCU coordinated the design of the $500M World Bank-supported AGROW Programme, developed through consultations with 32 states to strengthen priority value chains, improve regulatory systems, and unlock private sector investment in agriculture.
PFSCU has supported collaboration between state governments and insurance partners to mobilize matching grants and risk protection mechanisms, helping 250,000 farmers across 8 states manage climate and market risks.
Nigeria’s Vice President led the national delegation at the UN Food Systems Stocktaking Summit, engaging numerous global partners and institutions and signaling strong national commitment to advancing Nigeria’s food systems transformation.
